Traditional Construction

The requirement for a traditional building will generally be project and/or client led and can be the right choice to fulfil a number of specific needs.
Standard, well used methods and materials used by good local craftsmen can make for a successful and sympathetic solution to some design and use requirements. The use of traditional construction techniques and materials can often be the appropriate choice for specific site based circumstances.

Traditional techniques are proven through time and often blend in seamlessly with their surroundings making for a success and harmonious end building.

Conservation

Working in rural areas it is also important to view the design of new buildings within the context of both the natural and built environments. Working with old structures, including listed buildings and heritage assets, is an important part of our work. The preservation of our heritage works in balance with meeting the needs of new generations and new lifestyle requirements.

Repairs of old structures using traditional techniques and materials is key to keeping them alive for future generations to use and enjoy.
